Energizing Breakfast: Avocado Toast with Poached Egg

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice whole-grain bread
  • 1/2 avocado, mashed
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Toast the whole-grain bread until golden brown.
  2. Spread mashed avocado on the toast and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Poach the egg in simmering water for about 3-4 minutes until the white is set but the yolk is still runny.
  4. Place the poached egg on top of the avocado toast.
  5. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley.
  6. Serve immediately.
